Xiaomi 17 Pro Lets You Play Retro Games on the Back of Your Phone

Xiaomi recently launched the 17 Pro phone. It was originally going to be named the 16 Pro, but the number was changed to 17 to go head-to-head with the iPhone 17.

Beyond that, another highlight of the Xiaomi 17 Pro is the addition of a screen in the phone's camera bump area.

To complement this screen, Xiaomi has also introduced a rear case equipped with controller buttons.

While a "screen on the back" or a "protective case with buttons" might seem strange on their own, the combination of the two actually makes some sense - now you can play games on the rear screen.

The official launch showcased some Android games. To that end, Xiaomi officially collaborated with Angry Birds to provide native support for the rear case.

According to user testing, RetroArch also works without any issues.

However, I still can't imagine why I would want to play games on the back, leaving the much bigger screen behind (literally).
