AYANEO has just released the Pocket AIR Mini.
The Pocket AIR Mini features a 4.2-inch screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1280*960.
It uses the Helio G90T chip (instead of the widely anticipated Helio G99). Its performance sits between the T820 chip (used in the recently released Anbernic RG476H) and the T618 chip (used in the Retroid Pocket 3+). Therefore, don't expect it to run Gamecube and PS2 games perfectly.
The pricing for the Pocket AIR Mini is different from AYANEO's usual premium offerings. The early bird pricing has been announced as $70 for the 2GB RAM / 32GB storage option and $80 for the 3GB / 64GB version.
This device will be available in three colors: Retro White, Aurora Black, and Retro Power. As is customary, the lowest-spec SKU usually has only one fixed color option, and it's uncertain if this machine will follow suit.
AYANEO's recent moves (adding the sub-brand "KONKR" and launching the low-priced Pocket AIR Mini) signal its determination to enter the budget handheld market. Anbernic might not be able to sleep well anymore.
If you had to choose between the AYANEO Pocket AIR Mini and the Anbernic RG476H, which one would you pick? Feel free to leave a comment and discuss.
